There is a Rolec 3kW car charger with a type 2 socket which guests with Electric vehicles are welcome to use. There is a charge for the electricity, based on the amount you think you used during your stay. Please remember to bring a lead for your car if you want to use this. There is a good charging infrastructure on the island with rapid chargers located at several locations throughout North and South Uist as well as Benbecula.

Due to the massive increase in our electricity costs, we regret we can no longer offer free EV charging. You are most welcome to use the charger, but we ask that you estimate roughly how much energy you have used, and pay for this at the end of your visit. Our electricity tariff works out at approximately 45p/kWh as we start the 2023 season.

As a guide to costs:

Battery Capacity A full charge from empty Cost
Up to 15kWh (plug-in hybrid) 12kWh £4.50
